In this episode of Let’s Run Facebook Ads, Nick looks at the ongoing debate between landing pages and Meta Instant Forms after testing a new application funnel for his own business. After spending around £500 but only seeing two applications, Nick explains why he decided to test a different approach, including Meta’s new AI feature that can automatically build an Instant Form using the content from your website or landing page. He walks through how the AI-generated form works, the questions it created, what still needs to be changed manually and why this could make building lead forms much quicker. Nick also discusses the importance of testing and tweaking your Facebook Ads rather than expecting every campaign to work immediately and why generating more leads is only useful if the quality of those leads is right.

Hello and welcome back to Let's Run Facebook Ads, the podcast myself, Nick Boddington. We all have a bit of AI, and AI is, just as we know, taking over the world. And I think we're all, as Facebook advertisers, getting very, very confused with what's the right thing to do. Should we be plugging manis or whatever into our ad account? I know it, and I don't have the answers for this particular call today. It's not about that. It's not about that type of AI. And just for just for reference, I don't plug my ad accounts into AI. I look at the ad account the old fashioned way and I figure out what's going on. And so far my success from that is pretty good. So don't overwhelm yourself thinking that you need to be going into the into the ad account and plugging into mana so that it can make things easier. You end up spending a actually a lot more time doing that than actually just going in and figuring out what is wrong with your ads. But the reason I'm wanting to record this podcast and this this podcast is literally on the fly as it's happened, I thought, I'm going to just stop what I'm doing and record the podcast. So you get this at the same time. And this comes to the point of landing pages versus instant forms. I'm in a little bit of a and I'm going to do it a little bit of testing context of this particular podcast is that one week ago, I created a new application funnel, and that application funnel is to win. higher ad spending clients. Hey, while I've got you, I just wanted to ask. Would you like me to go into your ads manager and actually see what's working? Because I bet your ads aren't broken and I bet we can fix something. There's a reason our top clients stop guessing and start scaling. So if you've got campaigns that are burning cash, or you're having trouble barely even breaking even on them, let's have a look and let's see what we can fix. 100% no fluff, no sales pitch, just a pro-level ad review. So book your 30 minute free Facebook ad review session and walk away with some instant wins. Go to the Ads Clinic icon and book your call today. Do it now before you forget, but make sure you come back to listen to the rest of the podcast. Enjoy! When I look at all the clients that we work with the most longevity and the best clients for us as a business, not through characters and things like that, but you know, the best client as a business is someone who is already spending money on Facebook ads, has got stuck with them themselves, has used an agency and been burned once or a number of times, and wants to get our advice for a period of time one, two, 3 or 4 months. And then it usually works into a done for you service. So it starts off with mentoring. Then they realize it kind of like that. We build up your trust and you go, okay, you've got this working. Thank you so much. I can't believe any other agency didn't. And then we turned into done for you. So I decided that I wanted to create a landing page, which is called my application funnel. So rather than doing a visual sales letter of sales video of me talking, which is called a BSL, which is me talking on the landing page, I'd seen that these application funnels are doing well. And what I mean by an application funnel is my landing page is more about apply here to work with us. Okay, so rather than oversell saying please work with us, it's apply here to work with us so it changes the psychology of it. So I ran that we've spent we've spent like £500 on it. It's not a huge amount of money to spend on testing ads, but it's still farming to quit. But the reason I've, I've considered this not working very well is because I've had like 190 people go to the landing page and then I've only had two form fills. Two two people have actually gone through and submitted an application. I want that to really be about 40, 50 pounds. I'm kind of like five x over at the moment. So rather than burning more money with that, because I know that with my experience it's just not going to fix itself. I have to look at the audience that we're using. And whenever being by audience is not the audience, as in, going into ads manager and creating a new audience, it's how I'm speaking to the to the ideal customer. So at the moment I'm speaking to them in a way. Are you an established business, spending 3000 plus a month on your ads, but not getting the return you want, and I just don't feel it's strong enough. So one of the things I'm going to change to is the apply for an ads review. It's something that I've been saying on the podcast for years and years and years. We've been going about for years as a podcast, and it was my offer and it worked really, really well. Then obviously things changed for the business, and we've had the community start up and we've been closing people from inside the free community, etc. but I wanted to try something else. I want to get more leads and we want we want to go grow quicker and change slightly the model of the business and how we deliver. So that's the reason for running these ads. So I thought, okay, I'm going to go to a instant form because it was very expensive for the landing page. My CPM were between 70 and 100 a day, which is really high. And I know it's an expensive industry, but I wanted it cheaper than that. So I'm looking at the data in with my experience and going, okay, I'm going to try an instant form because we have a lot of clients running in some forms and they have a lot of success from them. So I'm going to do what they do and what I advise, so I'm going to move away from that for now. Just to move away from millennium, maybe use it as a way to get my offer right, using an instant form. And when I feel that's right, then I can go back to the landing page again and I can change some of the content on it to be more around a different offer. So I've gone into my ad account and I've gone to create a new form. Now, as I did that, a new feature has come up, which is what this podcast is about. And that feature is rather than spending a lot of time building my instant form, it, meta said, would you like us to create it for you using AI? And all I had to do was put in my website. Now I don't have a website, I have a school community, but I do have a landing page. And on that landing page, which is the one I've just been discussing, I have my offer, I have my content, I have my, forms and what mean by the form that I want the the potential customer to fill in to apply for that particular as review. I've pressed it. It's taken less than a minute to load up, and it has built my form with all my questions in it. Now I am going to have to go through here and actually put some changes in, but for an instant for an intro, it's brought in the ads accelerated partner applied to work with us to scale your meta as revenue. Bit basic, but it's a start. Questions. This is a bit that was probably takes the most time when you're building a form, and it's brought in the questions for me perfectly for short answer. Now, I might change these to go away from a short answer. When I say a short answer, it means it's a text box for the the particular business who is filling the form to be able to just write in there. So my questions are what is your monthly ad spend? What is your monthly revenue? What is your monthly revenue target and where? What is your biggest challenge with Facebook ads? Right now? They're there in a short answers. I'm going to have to think about this in a minute after podcast, or whether I make those into dropdowns like what is your monthly ad spend? But at the same time, I want them to kind of be honest. I'm just going to make a decision whether I actually made that into a bandaid like a, B, C, DA0 to 1000 b 1000 to 3000, and go through that, or whether I just keep a short answer. Either way, that's what we to make a decision on. We go down and we've got the contact information. It's pulled in email, phone number, first name and last name. It's just not in the right order. So I'm going to move this around to last name and first name at the top email and then phone number not making them optional. And then we go down to the privacy policy. It's found my privacy policy in here which is brilliant ending. Thanks. You're all set. You can visit our website or exit the form now and then. If they want to they can go through to the to the actual landing page and maybe fill that in if we miss some people here. And then review and publish. So it's absolutely brilliant. That is literally I haven't had to open a blank form and go through it and go, oh, oh, here we go. What am I going to have to fill in here and essentially use my brain? I love what I love about AI is how it's never a blank piece of paper. I've always found with copywriting and things like this, that when you're staring at a blank piece of paper to write some copy or some primary text or some headlines, it's always really, really hard and takes so much more time to get yourself going. Yeah, people, I suppose people some people call it this like deep, deep space when they're doing their work because they happen to really put their brain into gear. What I love about AI ChatGPT for helping copy Marnus, all these other things, and now meta in this bit is the fact that it's built it. Right. And I do. Yes. I'm I'm going to need to go in there and make some changes, but it just gets me there so much quicker. This form is literally going to take me another five minutes just to go over and make sure it's all saying what it needs to, and I can publish it and carry on with building all my ads. So it's kind of this podcast. It's kind of about a new feature that's come out. If you're thinking of going from landing page and trying to some forms and you have a website or you already have landing pages built, you can use this new AI feature. I think it's brilliant and I'll keep you updated. All these little changes. So next week we'll have a look at how my instant form has worked as compared to my landing page. Hopefully a lot better. I was going to be really annoying and stressful, but I think it will. I know well, I know that the instant form will work better than the landing page from a point of view of more leads at a lower cost, but as we all know, we need to deal with qualities like so we're going to. We just need to make all these tweaks. And these tweaks are what's needed to be successful in Facebook advertising. Because I I've done this for more than ten years. My ads went live and it hasn't crushed it. Okay. We can't expect it to always crush it. We just need to have that time to read to figure out what's been going wrong. Change the offer, change the hook, try something else. And this one might be the winning one. And I might get loads of people coming in for applications. It might be brilliant. And then in a month's time, I look at what our closing rate of the application was and things like this, and see whether it was a winning, a winning offer. We'll see. But either way, I've had to I've got to try something out because we are wanting to grow quicker than we can from our free community. So this is the next part of the journey. We won't stop working on our free community. We still do close business from that. We just need something else to get my diary full so that I can then hire a salespeople and get his or her diary full. It's just the way we need to expand, but I hope that helps. Give it a go and I'll see you in the next one. Take care. Bye. Thank you for joining us again today. please feel free to drop us a message. We'd love to hear from you and any questions that you would like answered. We can do that here on the podcast. You.
