I've got something that's quite mad to talk you through today. I sent an email broadcast out this morning to of my new YouTube video. They got aired. And I send it out to my email list. And a gentleman wrote back to me pretty much straight away and it said this. And I should have got this email before I started recording, because now you see any kind of thinking, here we go. Right. His name's Stephen Hess, and he is the was the writer at this point. I don't think he is now, but he was the writer for Campaign magazine. And this is, campaign live Dot code UK article. It's a online tabloid digital magazine for the UK, US, Canada, Asia, worldwide. All to do with marketing, right? And it says here as a so. So just give you a bit of context. My particular video that I sent out today was about how meta is listening to what we're saying on our ads. Okay, so I'm predominantly talking about when we are doing straight to camera and we've got a hook saying, hey, you struggling with your Facebook ads? Hey, are you spending 5,000 pounds a month on your Facebook ads and you're just not getting the return that you need, and you want an expert to help you guide the way those sort of videos. Okay. And I was talking about how meta is listening to what we're saying in those videos. And I gave an example where when you're going into when you insert or upload your video into meta to place it as an ad, what happens is you upload it and then you go through to go towards publishing. You don't have to go through those different pop ups which say, do you want to add any AI to it? And there's one that says, do you want to make any AI statics out of it? And the video is about how amazing it is because it's obviously listening to our our voice in the video and then taking the headline, some of the bullet points, some of the main things, and putting it as text on a static image. And that's happening because it's listening to our video. Hey, while I've got you, I just wanted to ask. Would you like me to go into your ads manager and actually see what's working? Because I bet your ads aren't broken and I bet we can fix something. There's a reason our top clients stop guessing and start scaling. So if you've got campaigns that are burning cash, or you're having trouble barely even breaking even on them, let's have a look and let's see what we can fix. 100% no fluff, no sales pitch, just a pro-level ad review. So book your 30 minute free Facebook ad review session and walk away with some instant wins. Go to the Ads Clinic icon and book your call today. Do it now before you forget, but make sure you come back to listen to the rest of the podcast. Enjoy! So the context of the video, my video was to say, if that's happening, that's how it's finding your audience, finding your ideal customer by you literally calling out to it in your video. And meta will break that down into text and go through its huge database of signals. Find the demographics, find the people to who are literally going to be your customers. Bring them in, and then those signals go back and forth. You know how it works, right? So opposed to that video, I then sent an email out to all my subscribers and Steven came back. Steven wrote this article. It's called Digital Viewpoint Unleash your geek ad folk. There's a preview subject line, and folk aren't famed for their love of software. But as the growth in digital media expands, it will become central to the way we all target customers. Consumers. Sorry. By Stephen Hess 3rd of August 2009. 17 years ago he wrote this article and I'm going to read a bit from it. I'm not going to read the whole lot, but I'm going to read bits because it's really interesting. Campaign readers might guff heartily at this, but one day readers of this very magazine will actually understand and embrace advertising software as much as they understand and embrace print or television ads today. Yes, software, the ad agency of the future, won't be a traditional bricks and mortar business. It's assets won't go up and down in the lift every day. Instead, it will be a software business where creativity and problem solving skills will be enhanced by intelligent software agents. Our business will be the middleware that connects brands to consumers with the right message at the right time, in the right place. This connectivity will be sensitive and dynamic, changing and evolving. There will never be a finished product, only the rules that govern a framework to deliver constantly adapting and evolving content. Creativity will be un bound. He goes on to write today, in spite of protest protestations of media neutral brigade advertising is still dominated by format. Come the ad software revolution, creativity will be unlocked from debates about 30 versus 62nd ad executions and insert versus letter. The process will be liberated by truly creative. As a result, our industry will evolve into an ever more effective, intelligent and responsive business. So it's amazing. Okay. This is. This is 17 years old and Stephen was already looking into the future of how our advertising will be based upon software that understands everything about the consumer. And depending on what we're saying in our ads, it will put it in front of the right person. He goes on, stay here. gone too will be that will be the debate over whether or not a campaign has engaged its target audience. We won't guess. We will know. In this future world, brands will get closer to their audiences using sensitive data mining and collection to develop greater insight, which in turn will will serve truly relevant and engaging content. This content will enable consumers to discover, explore and enjoy the brands. We will understand how consumers feel. We'll know their preferences, understand their physical responses, and adapt our content appropriately. I think it's amazing how it is exactly what is happening today, which goes all the way back to the video that I posted today and sent an email about of how meta now listens to us in our videos, can create ad content through AI to put us in front of the consumer who is our ideal customer at the right time. It's unbelievable. And this is going back to a point in time. If we're talking about 2009, 2009 is when I went into business and that was working for a database company where, believe it or not, when he bought an Excel spreadsheet back then, it wasn't an Excel spreadsheet. You got your data on a on a massive disk, which got produced in the data studio below our building, and then courier to the business that bought it for them to put it into a machine that can read that data and pull it off and put it into a computer. That's what people had to go through. That was only in 2009, 17 years ago. And advertising then, based on the copywriters that I know back then. Shout out to Drayton Byrd. It was about if you were going to run newspaper articles or newspaper adverts, you could only track it by putting a coupon in it that people would take out that coupon, hand it into a shop, or there'll be a number on it that they had to put in a line. We weren't even doing that online. Okay, this at the same time when Amazon was a new company and I thought it was dodgy, so I was calling, I was using something where it was called now. It was a competitor to Amazon at the time, and I thought it was better. It was where we bought our CDs and CDs from and our DVDs from, and then Amazon sort of came in. This is how early it was. So the times have changed and I think it's brilliant. And I really thank Stephen Hess for sending me about this article because the timing is amazing. It's he's obviously watched my video and gone. I wrote an article about this, and this is exactly what is happening now. And he he knew it was going to happen or he foresaw it happening, which is brilliant. So I just wanted to share that with you guys, to know that we're in a different age now. But there were some very skilled marketeers who knew this was coming, and they've they foreseen it and it's happened. And Facebook, TikTok, all these other networks are doing it. I still believe I mean, I'm biased towards Facebook. This is the best time for Facebook now. It's unbelievable. If you get this right, you can do extremely well and you will get it right and you will do extremely well. So I hope you like this into one. Food for thought. I'll see you on the next one. Bye. Thank you for joining us again today. please feel free to drop us a message. We'd love to hear from you and any questions that you would like answered. We can do that here on the podcast. You.
